Brewing a Great Cup of Coffee. Always use fresh coffee. Natural Directions recommends using the grounds in this package within a week of opening; store in a dry, dark and airtight container. Start with fresh, filtered cold water to draw the best flavor from the beans. Try brewing with bottled or distilled water if your tap water tends to have odor or sediment. Use the correct grind for your brewing method. French press and drip coffee filter cone brewing calls for a coarse grind, automatic drip calls for medium grind, and espresso machines require a fine grind. Measure carefully. For each six ounces of water, Natural Directions suggests two level tablespoons of ground coffee.
